Unfortunately it is no longer possible in many interested circles to raise the necessary funding for participation in intercultural encounters. Children and young people in particular are often excluded from the possibility of gaining their own experience in an intercultural context due to economic reasons.

The association acknowledged this situation years ago and has since specialised in procuring the necessary funding in addition to pure project development and project realisation.

As the world of public and private sponsorship is very large we have focused on areas that specifically offer financial support for our projects.

This has proved successful. Since its founding Die Brücke has received a total of some € 4.5 m in public funding for its activities to date and current projects. This funding was and is not only available to the association, the respective project partners also share in the funds acquired.

As a consequence, we have managed to ensure that since 2008 no-one has had to go without participating in an intercultural encounter for economic reasons.

Together with our partners, we are proud that we have been able to offer all of our projects free of charge to participants since that time.

We consider it a challenge to remain true to our principle of "intercultural experiences for all" in the future, in the face of shifting funding structures.
